Texas-exes Parker, Pierceson Coody become 2nd set of fraternal twins to join PGA Tour
Texas golf stars making it onto the PGA TOUR is impressive, but the Longhorns have a history of sending golfers to the pro level. Some guys named Jordan Spieth and Scottie Scheffler have carved out pretty good careers for themselves.
Former Texas golfer Parker Coody earning his pro card is special though. That’s because he joins his brother Pierceson on the Tour, making them only the second pair of fraternal twins to hold membership at the same time. Allan and Curtis Strange accomplished the feat in 1981.
The grandsons of former Masters winner Charles Coody, Pierceson was the first to breakout onto the golf scene. He was ranked as the No. 1 amateur golfer in the world at one point and had a decorated career with the Longhorns, winning the 2022 NCAA national championship alongside his brother Parker. This was after a freak accident during a relay race led to the twins both breaking their right arms. They really are connected.
Parker came along slower, but it’s undeniable that making the Tour is an accomplishment of its own. Pierceson clinched his spot earlier this summer after finishing sixth on the Korn Ferry Tour points list. Parker began the year with conditional status but finished the season with five top-10 finishes en route to placing No. 25 on the final points list.
